I spent a couple of days last week preparing for the challenges at the ITAC 2017. The International Tournament of Art and Craft has 6 wonderful topics/challenges to choose from and create art.
Here we go with my creations for the challenge:
My interpretation of the theme of printmaking, art and vintage. I have used newspapers for the base followed by painting of the silhouettes of the Big Ben,London Bridge and the London Eye.
I have dyed a fabric using the technique of Tie and Dye followed by a layer of Mandala art.I then went on to paint the silhouettes of the Temple, Tree and the Buddha.
I tried working with the Australian Aboriginal Art for this one. Working with fabrics, I created the base using the technique of applique work followed by working on painting the intricate details of the patterns.
Using varied colours and blending one into the other, I prepared the base background. I then worked on finer details with random doodling.
Warli is an Indian art form that is generally painted with white on a brown/earthy base. I felt it best to use this art form to represent world peace since a human figure of any caste, race and religion looks the same in this art form. I painted the Warli Circle on a circular canvas to represent unity.
Thank you so much for stopping by and having a look at my work. All the best for your participation at the ITAC 2017.
