Hello Folks!! So today I will be sharing a simple DIY for children. This particular one was designed for the Hobby Ideas team, Pidilite Industries, when I was working with them as a Content Expert.
During the summer holidays, when kids are busy with comics, there’s a quick DIY that kids will love to do. Use a few pages from their old comics or even the comic section of the newspaper to decorate a pen stand for their study table.
You could use a wooden stand, a cup or even a cardboard box as the base to deck up a pen stand.
Here’s what I used:
MDF Pencil stand, Fevicryl Acrylic Colour White, Black, Fevicryl 3D Outliner- Black, Fine Art brushes, Fevicol MR General Purpose, Emery Paper, Scissor.
Here’s how it’s done:
Prime the surface of the pen stand by using Fevicryl Acrylic White paint.
Cut out a few pages from an old comic book. I have cut out pieces from my favorite section of the newspaper.
Use a brush to evenly spread out Fevicol onto the surface and then paste the papers onto the sides of the wooden stand.
Sand the edges using emery paper to give a smooth finish.
Use Fevicryl Acrylic black paint to work on the finishing of the stand.
You can also use Fevicryl 3D outliner cone-black, to work on the outlines of the sections/strips.
Allow the work to dry for a couple of hours. You can additionally put a coat of varnish to seal your work.
Happy Crafting,
Shantha
